G'day!

My name is Robert and believe it or not, a few years ago I only drank Instant Coffee and the only time I had fresh coffee was when my wife and I went for a drive.

Needless to say I had absolutely no idea how to make great tasting, fresh coffee at home.
But, I have a beautiful wife, Lis, who loves making and drinking "real coffee", as she calls fresh coffee and with her passion and knowledge she took me from "Instant Coffee, add hot water" to "Doppio Piccolo Latte" .

WOW.... that was a WHOLE different world!!

After the initial period of stuffing things up, I started to REALLY taste fresh coffee, the differences in the various coffee beans and how they changed when they were filtered, or made into an espresso.

I learned to literally "smell" when the water was too hot and I actually started to produce real microfoam, instead of froth!
My coffees got better and better and to tell you the truth, it was a lot more fun than I expected.
So much fun, actually, that soon my interest became a hobby and by now I can teach Lis a few things about coffee!!

My mornings are now not just "Good Morning...", but:

"GREAT MORNING!... Coffee anyone?"

To walk into the kitchen, see a brand-new bag of freshly roasted coffee-beans sitting there, open it and have that wonderful aroma hit you... and then figuring out what to do: make a slow-drip, a plunger coffee, or a Continental, or pull a God-Shot from the espresso-machine, so sweet i do not have to put sugar in it?

Or, shall I be totally decadent and have it with ice-cream, as an Affogato??

Choice, quality, availability...all the right ingredients for a hobby, so: here is the
Good Coffee At Home website, where I can share some of the coffee-information, coffee-tips, barista tricks, gadgets, gizmos, receipes and methods I have put together and collected as "home barista", so you can make a good latte at home, or a long black with crema on top and great natural sweetness.

Be warned though... once you learn to make great coffee in your own kitchen, you will find your own coffees generally taste much better than anyone else's.
So, going out for a social coffee could become a bit of a problem...

By the way, learning how to make coffee is not only a great tasting hobby, (AND a hobby with great taste!) but for me it was also the first step towards true Coffee-stuff Addiction!

From coffee beans to coffee cups, coffee tampers to espresso machines, there is a whole lot more to coffee than just coffee !

It's a BIIIG worldwide market out there, with lots of interesting Coffee-stuff inventions, recipes, paraphernalia and "simply have to have" coffee gadgets..
good coffee at home by the fire

So, sit down, grab a drink, and have a look....
chances are you will have a lot of fun finding
out about coffee and how to make a
REALLY GOOD CUP OF COFFEE,
right in your own kitchen!

Cheers,

Robert
